Our Heritage
At Rim-Lay Thai Restaurant, we take pride in preserving the rich heritage of Thai culinary traditions. Rim-Lay, ริมเล , means a place steps away from a sea in Thai. The land in the southern part of Thailand is harbored with ocean where aromatic herbs and fresh seafood are abundantly produced. Therefore, the flavor of food is strong and pungent. Our restaurant is a place where patrons can immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of Thailand through a delectable culinary journey. Every delectable homestyle and classic ingredients is not really secret, it is fresh air, warm smiles, and cooking like we are feeding people we love. We aim to provide an authentic Thai dining experience that captures the essence of Thai hospitality and warmth. Once you are in, enjoy your food, good companies and moments - no rush , no fuss.
Our Story
Our restaurant began not with business plans or blueprints, but with the warmth of a different family'recipes kitchen. For us, food has always been more than nourishment—it has been a way to gather, to celebrate, and to pass down traditions from one generation to the next.
Growing up, our earliest memories are tied to the sounds and scents of cooking. The kitchen was the heart of our home, always alive with the hiss of a hot pan, the fragrant steam rising from soups and curries, and the laughter of family working together. Recipes were never written down; they were taught by hand, by taste, and by memory—lessons passed from parents to children, and now carried forward to this restaurant.
Every dish on our menu has a story. Our Tom Yum Soup, for example, comes from a recipe my grandmother perfected—bright, aromatic, and soothing, it was the dish she made whenever someone in the family needed comfort or healing. Our Pad Thai is a tribute to the version my parents cooked late at night after long days at the family’s first restaurant, a recipe fine-tuned to achieve the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory. And our Green Curry is one of our chef most treasured dishes, originally prepared during special family gatherings, its flavors deepening as the curry simmered slowly on the stove.
Over time, these dishes became part of who we are—reminders of our culture, our heritage, and our love for bringing people together. When we dreamed of opening this restaurant, we wanted to share that same feeling with others. Not just food, but the experience of sitting around a table filled with flavors that connect the past to the present.
Our hope is that when you dine here, you feel like part of our extended family—welcomed with care, served with pride, and treated to the flavors that have been treasured in our home for generations.
